Artist Demonstration Schedule for Saturday, December 20th
Pottery by Paul Chenoweth
Paul Chenoweth is one of those creative sorts whose background in architecture, art, music, and education make him a likely candidate to keep the story of ceramic musical instrument making alive. For now, the stories are about whimsical instruments that frequently combine a functioning tone sculpture with something like a cup (or mug)…thus the nameMugPhlute.
Paul's pottery is also very architectural and precise, with fun marks and textures and a bit of whimsey thrown in. Explore it for yourself and watch him work on Saturday, December 20th.
Both Hands on the Wheel Pottery - Aura Lee Hiehle & Konrad Vorbasch
Aura Lee's pottery journey started with taking a class with Sharon at Mud Puddle Pottery. Then she took summer classes at a community college and it was all uphill from there! Aura Lee enjoys making things to use everyday, throwing a wide variety of clays, trying all the texture tools, and using the wildest glazes she can find - especially metallics and multicolor!
Every piece is thrown on the wheel or hand built by Aura Lee or her father, Konrad, one piece at a time.
Spinning Wheel By Carol Boozer
Carol is a super talented fiber artist from just down the road. Her creations have been sold here at Mud Puddle for years now. She spins, knits, weaves, and basically can do almost anything with fiber!
Saturday, December 20th, Carol will be visiting with the other artists and demonstrating the art of the spinning wheel.
Come visit with Carol and learn about fiber works!
Spinning Wheel by Ginny Maurer
Ginny Maurer is a talented fiber artist that dyes, spins, and plys all kinds of fibers to create hand-spun yarns. She then weaves scarves, wraps, runners, hand towels, place mats, coasters, rugs, throws, etc. And because she is drawn to all fiber crafts, Ginny also crochets brooches, caps and head-warmers!
Come join us and visit with Ginny to learn all about fiber arts on Saturday, December 20th.
PHun Art by Geal Goldbeck - Underglazing
We have a repeat performance with serial crafter, Geal Goldbeck. She is into so many different things that it can be a little confusing! She was here once with her sewing machine, a spinning wheel, and underglazing on clay. Saturday, December 20th, Geal will demonstrate painting pottery with underglazes for a second time. Some people just make crafting look so easy!
Come watch Geal create her amazing designs!
