Izzy Caldwell Weldon | Metalsmith

Isabel (Izzy) Caldwell Weldon is a jewelry artist and sculptor based in Nashville, TN, serving as the Creative Director for the company, Ben and Lael. She works primarily in metal, creating wearable sculptures, wall installations, and fine jewelry. Isabel studied metalsmithing at Rochester Institute of Technology in the School of American Crafts under Carlos Caballero-Perez and Leonard Urso. Isabel's work reflects the world around her, turning large sculpture into something that can be worn in the everyday world. With a background in traditional metalsmithing and contemporary jewelry design, she combines two worlds where something as large as the sky can be held in the palm of your hand.

Izzy's Artist Statement:

Rooted in a deep fascination with the natural world, my creative process takes form in metal sculpture and jewelry. I draw on nature’s forms, textures, and rhythms to create each piece. Letting organic shapes and bold colors guide compositions that are both aesthetically compelling and emotionally resonant. I believe art should not only engage the eye, but also reflect something personal and true. Each piece contributes to a broader narrative; unified works that speak to one another and invite viewers to see the familiar through a more curious eye. Through this approach, I aim to inspire a closer, more mindful interaction with the world around us. For me, art is not just a reflection of nature’s beauty, it’s a conversation with it.
